Organizational Behavior (38905)

This is a graduate seminar for Ph.D. students interested in organizational behavior (OB). The class will be focused on reading and discussion. The readings are meant to introduce students to the field of organizational behavior, with a psychological/behavioral science perspective in mind. We will cover topics like motivation and meaning at work, groups and teams, behavioral ethics, trust, hierarchy and power, and conflict management.

Students are expected to read the assigned articles in advance, actively participate in class discussions, generate original research ideas, and provide critical and constructive comments on classmates’ research ideas. The main purpose of this course is to stimulate research while learning about the field of OB. As part of this class, you will be asked to develop a research project that will be presented to class and submitted as a paper.
