Social Venture Accelerator (34735)

This course is a continuation of New Social Ventures (34115) for student-founded social ventures. The most promising ventures from 34115 as well as the most promising social ventures from the College New Venture Challenge will be invited to participate in the Social Venture Accelerator. Team members from invited teams can enroll for credit or audit the course. Ventures that participated in New Social Ventures or the College New Venture Challenge in previous years that have a founder who has not yet graduated can apply. Selection into SVA will be based on the social impact potential of the venture with an emphasis on teams committed to building their ventures. The ventures can be organized as either for-profit or nonprofit organizations.
Participation in 34115 or the College New Venture Challenge and invitation of instructor.
  • Application-based course
The course will have a Canvas site.
Based largely on progress building and pitching the student social ventures.  Class participation and constructive input into other groups’ projects will also be incorporated. Cannot be taken pass/fail. For joint degree students, college students and other non-Booth students, can provide provisional and early final grades.
