Course Detail (Course Description By Faculty)

Managerial Finance (35010)

This course introduces students to corporate finance, asset pricing, and investments. It is designed for students who have no background in finance and may or may not choose to concentrate in finance. I discuss sources of funds, capital budgeting, capital structure, dividend policy, cost of capital, portfolio theory, the capital asset pricing model, multifactor asset pricing models, valuation, and market efficiency. I provide the students with references to more advanced materials if they decide that they want to wade into the material further. I teach the course primarily with lectures and I rely heavily on numerical examples.
Business 30000, not enforced.  MiM Only. All Non-Booth students require instructor permission to enroll.  Cannot enroll in 35010 if 35001 taken previously: strict.
