Course Detail (Course Description By Faculty)

Innovation Lab (34712)

The “Innovation Lab” course is exclusively open for Specialized Masters students (Master in Management and Master in Finance) who are studying in London for Winter Quarter 2026.  The purpose of the course is to:

  • Learn about the private capital market: its economic role, institutional set-up, and future outlook and challenges.
  • Learn how to address a real-world practical problem facing a European private capital investor working in a group of peers over a limited period of time.
  • Practice group collaboration, project management, and presentation skills.

Even students who do not envision a career in private capital per se, they will likely interact with the private capital market in their future jobs: as consultants or advisors in connection with private capital deals, as managers of firms owned or financed by private capital, or as investors/limited partners in private capital funds.  The course should therefore be broadly useful not only for students who are interested in working in private capital, but more broadly for those pursuing a career in finance, management, or consulting.
